Guides
Use open models from the tools you already have.
Any tool that accepts an OpenAI-compatible base URL and API key can use ScaledThought: point it at https://api.us.scaledthought.com/v1, use the ST_API_KEY that npx -y scaledthought@0.3 init writes to ./.env, and pick a model id from npx -y scaledthought@0.3 models --live.

Any other tool
Look for the tool's "OpenAI-compatible" or "custom OpenAI" provider. It needs three values: the base URL https://api.us.scaledthought.com/v1, an API key (ST_API_KEY from ./.env, or a sub-agent key with its own daily budget) and a model id from npx -y scaledthought@0.3 models --live. Set an output limit if the tool has one: requests without max_tokens get a default cap.
npx -y scaledthought@0.3 keys create --name my-tool --child --budget-usd 5 # printed once
npx -y scaledthought@0.3 models --livenpx -y scaledthought@0.3 connect opencode and connect aider write the base URL and a new key into those tools' config for you; connect cursor and connect continue print the steps.
